Dwight Lee has a bachelor's degree in geology and 33 years of petroleum geology experience. As our professional expert on Active Guidance, he has personally steered over 1,400 wells. His level of experience and expertise steering horizontal wells makes him a strong asset to any project.
JEFF KALKAN
SENIOR GEOLOGIST
Jeff Kalkan is an AAPG member, with a bachelor's degree in geology and 28 years of petroleum geology experience. Throughout his career, he has personally steered over 1,300 wells. His experience in the Texas Gulf Coast and East Texas basins provides valuable knowledge to any project drilling in those areas.
Jon Krystinik
SENIOR GEOLOGIST
Jon Krystinik has a master's degree in geology and 20 years of petroleum geology experience. He has experience in exploration and horizontal development (up to ten rig geosteering program). He has applied an understanding of sequence stratigraphy and lateral facies variation steering over 1,000 wells, honing a keen eye for pattern recognition across a broad range of basins.
ROB SHUMAN
SR GEOLOGIST
Rob brings over 14 years of oil industry experience in both the upstream and downstream side to HSI. Since joining HSI in 2011 he has steered several hundred wells in nearly all the major oil and gas producing basins. Rob has a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience and is actively involved with AAPG and the Dallas Geological Society.

KEN BOWDON

Ken is a professional petroleum geologist with more than 30 years of experience. Ken is a pioneer in horizontal well technology and evaluation. In 1987 he was the first to drill an exploratory horizontal well in the continental United States. Nine years later, Mr. Bowdon founded HSI Geosciences, after writing our exclusive software program that offers superior navigation of horizontal well bores using MWD gamma ray signatures.
GEORGE GUNN
DIRECTOR OF SALES
George Gunn has more than 25 years experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. He is an AAPG certified petroleum geologist with a master’s degree in geology. His experience includes more than 15 years working with horizontal wells. He oversees sales for HSI, and manages relationships with existing customers and industry professionals.
STEPHANIE SANBORN
TECHNOLOGY MANAGER
Stephanie has more than 20 years of experience in the Information Technology Industry. She has extensive experience in software development, including managing projects, analyzing and designing systems, and implementing customized QA methodologies and testing techniques. Her expertise includes building and maintaining customer relationships, through meeting their technology needs.

Melissa Kolb is a California registered geologist and an AAPG member, with more than 35 years of experience as a petroleum geologist. With a masters's degree in geology, and more than 13 years experience interpreting more than 800 wells, you need her experience on your team!
